The digitization of SMEs is upon us and they continue to adapt to new technologies to meet the needs of their businesses. According to a recent study conducted by Movistar Empresas, Digital SME Adoption Survey, by the end of 2022, 76% of SMEs in Peru considered digitalization relevant for the continuity of their business, as it offers them numerous benefits such as increased turnover and cost savings.
Another key conclusion of the survey was that 73% of SMEs say they are experiencing difficulties digitizing their business, with lack of digital literacy being highlighted as one of the main factors by 65%, so staying up to date is essential.
This was explained by Annie Fernández, SME Marketing Manager of Movistar Empresas in Latin America, during her participation in SME talks held in the city of Trujillo and organized in collaboration with the La Libertad Chamber of Commerce (CCLL). “SMEs are the main driver of the country’s economy and need an ally to manage and boost their businesses through technology. For this reason, we focus not only on offering connectivity and a portfolio of digital solutions, but also on providing them with the digital knowledge they need to digitize their business through the Movistar Empresas Innovation Academy,” he stated.
The Movistar Empresas Innovation Academy is a training program with an e-learning platform for entrepreneurs and SMEs in Latin America, providing a library of free courses on topics such as logistics and after-sales, digital marketing, digitization of sales processes, to learn the latest technology trends in the field of big data, artificial intelligence, among others.
“At Movistar Empresas, we want to promote the development of SMEs and give them the tools to face the current times. We are sure that with all the benefits that free training and technology adoption bring us, SMEs they will become increasingly productive and competitive in this new, more digital market,” said Fernández.
To date, the program has impacted more than 13,000 SMEs in Latin America through courses taught by trainers of different nationalities with extensive experience in business development and digital skills. Among them are specialists from Wayra Hispam, Telefónica’s innovation arm and business investment fund, which also supports this initiative.
The event announced the launch of the next live courses of the Innovation Academy that will be certified, starting in mid-April and focusing on the digitization of various aspects of the SME value chain, such as marketing. digital, digital sales and customer experience.
