Good morning everyone and welcome to a new post!
Recently, we saw a new tool come to light, completely free and open source, available to all users of any version of Windows 10.
This tool, called Windows 10 Dominator, allows us, among other things, to manage all aspects of privacy that the operating system itself does not allow.
If there was one thing that bothered users when Microsoft released Windows 10, it was the sheer amount of personal and usage information that the operating system collected from users. Although with the latest updates of the Microsoft operating system it has simplified the configuration of this privacy and in addition has minimized the amount of data collected, many users do not trust the company and continue to resort to applications specializing in privacy of Windows 10 users and give them control over these options, one of these alternatives is Windows 10 Dominator.
Windows 10 Dominator is a free and open source application designed to allow users to be dissatisfied with the privacy options provided by the operating system. While Microsoft allows users to easily enable and disable certain privacy options in their operating system, other, much more advanced options require changes to the operating system’s registry or group policy, making these options somewhat complicated to manage. This is where this app comes into play.
The main privacy options that we can configure with Windows 10 Dominator are:
- Search the web when we type in the Windows search bar.
- Using our ID in applications that load ads.
- Send everything we write to Microsoft.
- The ability for web pages to access our Windows language and region settings.
- Sending information about potential problems (Diagnostic Tracking Service).
- Feedback.
- WAP Push Message Routing Service notifications.
- All telemetry.
- Blocks access to telemetry servers.
- The possibility of applications accessing our location.
- Skype ads.
- The ability to share updates with other computers or download them from other computers.
- Using SmartScreen.
As we said, this application is open source, so we can download it for free from GitHub.
OPERATION OF “WINDOWS 10 DOMINATOR”
This application is not only free and open source, but also portable, so once you download it, all you need to do is unzip it to start using it. Once done, we run it and see a window like the following:
As we said, if something characterizes this application, it is the ease of use. As we can see, a series of entries will appear in the main window, with the corresponding switches, from which we will control these options.
So if we click on each of these items, Windows 10 Dominator will make the necessary adjustments in our operating system to deactivate the options we select. The changes are usually reversible, so returning the switch to its original position should have everything back to normal.
While it’s really cool to use these third-party apps to improve privacy on Windows 10, we don’t really recommend it. Windows is a very complex ecosystem and any strange changes to the system can cause it to fail in the long run. In addition, problems often arise when using this type of application when installing Windows updates, and we remember that we have Windows 10 Fall Creators Update just around the corner.
From GRUPO ALEBEN, we try to bring you the most current computer and technology news, and we do not always recommend its use, on this occasion using this free tool is at your own risk. We’ve seen the news and we’ve explained it to you as easily and cleanly as possible. However, as we usually say, if you have any questions or want to expand the article, please expose them in the comments and we can make this post as comprehensive as possible.
Greetings from GRUPO ALEBEN.
Until next time!
